VHS Rehabilitation provides physical, speech and occupational therapy wherever you are.

VHS Rehabilitation are experts in providing physical, speech and occupational therapy. Our providers can be found delivering care in outpatient settings, skilled nursing and senior living communities, schools and hospitals. This includes in VHS-operated nursing and rehabilitation centers, senior living communities, and in partnership with VHS Home Health Care.

Our team takes pride in their ability to return individuals to their highest levels of function. Programs are geared to your needs. The VHS Rehabilitation team of physical, occupational and speech therapists promote independence and support your mental health as well.

The team works with you based on the therapy needed to improve physical and cognitive function, and can teach you how to prevent re-injury.

Our team has worked with individuals following a stroke, join replacement, traumatic injuries and other life-altering events. Our goal is to support an improved quality of life through hands-on care and provide education to maintain consistency.

I worked with PT, Beth for the rehab of my back. If I could give her more than 5 stars, I would. She was the best therapist I have ever worked with. She motivated me, she came up with some of the most amazing interventions to help me stand up straighter. She Pushed me through the pain. We really love Rebecca. She worked with my parents over a year ago when they first came from rehab. She is very patient, kind and caring. She worked with my mom this time and worked with my husband and I on the hoya lift, which we were afraid to use, and sliding board. She taught us what to do and the best way to make my mom feel comfortable using it and helping us feel comfortable as well. After a couple of tries, I was able to use the lift on my own. She provided her knowledge, care and also printed off information in case we forgot a step. She is simply the best. She really proves she cares about her patients and their family as she worked around my work schedule. Rebecca is a true asset to the VHS company. Keep her around.

I’ve been going to VHR on and off for several years. I’ve worked with three Physical Therapist’ and they have all been great! I’ve been to other facilities and VHR is by far the best for numerous reasons. I’m working with Jon right now and he has already helped with me with my knee issues and I’ve only had three sessions. I’ve been dealing with this for over a year and in hindsight, I should have gone to PT sooner. Thanks Jon for caring so much about your patients!

Jon Sterner is by far the best PT that I've ever had! His knowledge of the SI Joint and ability to evaluate is second to none. Jon is able to create relief by adjustments and give effective exercises for long term stabilization. I really appreciate his inspiring "talks" when I get down and negative, if and when the journey to recover isn't as fast as I want. Jon is great at his craft and incredible at physician- patient relations.

Virginia Health Rehab has been a lifesaver for me. After an injury I started PT with another facility. While everything was going well, I wanted to explore different options in the area. Every aspect of VHR works perfectly; I have joked that during these times, VHR is the only thing going well for me! I called expecting to wait several weeks for an appointment, but they were able to see me within a week. The office staff is both friendly and professional. The PT I see is John; he is a miracle worker. Within two visits, I was able to do things I had not done in over two months. He works with his patients the entire session ensuring the exercises you will do at home are being done correctly. His knowledge and experience combine to make him simply amazing. He is personable and easy to talk to while doing therapy. John also makes sure that his patients are in a great place mentally with encouragement and care. I can't say enough about how wonderful VHR has been - choosing to do PT here has been a life changing experience.

Phil King is such a knowledgeable and encouraging PT! We first met Phil in 2018 when my wife had total right knee replacement. At our request, Phil was her PT when she had a left total knee replacement four months later. Then in May 2021, I fell from a ladder which required surgery and rehab. Once released to come home, Virginia Home Health provided Nurse, PT, OT and yes, Phil was requested once again! Last week I had a total right knee replacement, myself and of course, Phil, was the man! He is truly a dedicated and compassionate person. I would highly recommend him to anyone requiring his services!

"Welcome Home!" This is what you feel from the moment you enter this establishment. The staff greets you with a warm welcome and you feel at ease. They are an excellent group of friendly, caring, knowledgeable, and passionate individuals. I received physical therapy at Port Warwick and I would refer anyone here. Jon was the first therapist I worked with and he was AMAZING!!! He cared for me every step of the way and it was so genuine. I cried my first day because he really gave me words that I needed to hear. He told me, "you have to stop living in fear and you are gonna get your life back." He recognized how nervous I was to do some of the movements because I was afraid to feel the pain I had experience prior to coming to VHS Rehabilitation. At that moment I knew this was just not a therapist trying to do his daily job and get me out of there but he actually took every part of his job serious and with great compassion, not only to help but to motivate his clients as well. I was also blessed with having the opportunity to work with another therapist named Tony. It just got better and better ... this was just a dynamic duo!! Tony also had so much passion and was great with his techniques. He wanted to make sure that the level of care was still at its highest and 100% focused on my needs. I couldn't ask for a better place to be; this facility by far exceeded my expectations of physical therapy. I truly miss them already. The day I got discharged was bittersweet but I will not be a stranger ... like Jon states, "you are part of the family." Thank you VHSR and all of your staff for a superb experience, you all are great!!!

As a US NAVY Active Duty Personnel that is about to retire I would love to thank the crew and the family-based vibe of the facility where I was being treated for knee and back pain. They also work with your availability through proper scheduling. This organization is professionally handled by talented Administrative Staff Members, alongside 3 Physical Therapist and an Occupational Therapist with more than 30 years of combined work experience in the medical industry treating Veterans, Seniors, Children and the Youth of the Port Warwick Region. The service by VHS Rehabilitation has been great. My physical trainers have done an outstanding job toward the healing of my back. The physical procedures are great. I love the way they start off with a warm-up drill. They are always holding you accountable toward your healing. My trainers have very educational conversations that will help you toward your healing and toward general life. I love their professionalism. May God bless the entire staff at VHS Rehabilitation. Had an awesome experience at VHS. Everyone is welcoming, lots of laughing. They care about their patients. Left there feeling much better as opposed to when I came in for my knee injury. Enjoyed working with Tony; heard my needs and problems. Really helped me regain strength in my knee. The comments made here are directed to the physical/occupational therapy staff. When I arrived here more than three months ago I could do very little physically but with the help and encouragement offered by the staff and in particular the therapists Elizabeth and Ellen, I have made progress beyond my expectations! The entire staff who worked with me were very supportive and encouraging, and their praise always (encouraged) me to work just a little harder.
