Activities at The Newport
Stephen supervises and coordinates the operations departments at The Newport Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and The Huntington Assisted Living, and ensures the facility is complying with state and federal regulatory requirements. He recently graduated from Marymount University, earning a BS Health Sciences while being a part of the baseball program. Stephen became a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator in January 2021. In his spare time, he enjoys snowboarding, traveling, and restoring/riding motorcycles. Giving back to those who have built the community that we live in is what inspires him. Seeing residents comfortable and living their best life motivates Stephen to do his best. He strives to ensure his Team is successful.
Michelle oversees the nursing Team at The Newport Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She started with Virginia Health Services 30 years ago as a CNA while attending nursing school. She completed her RN training in 1997 and continued her career with VHS as an RN on the skilled unit in various roles, including Assistant Director of the Managed Care department. Michelle was promoted to Director of Nursing in 2006 at The Newport.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons and enjoys time at the beach with her family and reading. Michelle’s favorite inspirational quote is, “When you’re a nurse, you know that every day you will touch a life or a life will touch yours. ”-Unknown
