VHS Home Health Care is based in Newport News, Virginia, but the team’s footprint can be found all over southeastern Virginia. Our team coordinates personalized home health care plans that help you meet your goals.

Our VHS Home Health Care team of professionals includes nurses, therapists and social workers who will empower you to live as independently as possible. We train and educate you and your loved ones to help you gain independence.

Typically covered by Medicare and most commercial insurances, home health care can effectively help you get back to your best life.

What You Can Expect

Our VHS Home Health Care team will evaluate your needs in accordance to your doctor’s orders. We partner with agencies including therapists through VHS Rehabilitation and VHS Registered Dietitians, and provide medication services through VHS Pharmacy. We offer mobile monitoring for a variety of healthcare needs, including diabetes, and our skilled nursing team provides wound care, pain and medication management, and more.

We really love Rebecca. She worked with my parents over a year ago when they first came from rehab. She is very patient, kind and caring. She worked with my mom this time and worked with my husband and I on the hoya lift, which we were afraid to use, and sliding board. She taught us what to do and the best way to make my mom feel comfortable using it and helping us feel comfortable as well. After a couple of tries, I was able to use the lift on my own. She provided her knowledge, care and also printed off information in case we forgot a step. She is simply the best. She really proves she cares about her patients and their family as she worked around my work schedule. Rebecca is a true asset to the VHS company. Keep her around.

Phil has been phenomenal. He has greatly improved upon my skills when I was released from The Newport Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. I have gone from being almost totally dependent on my wheelchair to being able to use a walker for both inside and outside use. He is patient, caring and encouraging. At the same time, he pushes you to the limit to try and reach your full potential. He is responsible for helping to give me back my life.

Couldn't ask for a better company! I have just completed my in-home physical therapy after a full knee replacement-I will be transitioning to continue my PT at their facility in Port Warwick. My Physical Therapist (Nancy) was very knowledgeable and explained to me what the different exercises would do and what muscle groups I need to build up. She pushed me to do my best and wouldn't let me get discouraged. I am having my other knee replacement done this fall and will be using VA Health Homecare for PT as I am very pleased with the professionalism and the results. I hope I get matched with Nancy again.

Kind, caring and very professional therapists. Megan did my home physical therapy and it was great. She seemed to understand exactly what I needed. Thomas and Deb did most of my inpatient therapy and I can’t speak highly enough of either of them. Valerie did my home OT and was a pleasure to work with. I would recommend York Nursing and Rehabilitation Center highly to anyone. I spent 5 1/2 months as an inpatient there and went from flat on my back to walking with a walker, getting better every day. The fact is I miss all the therapists at York, and particular appreciation those who help me with my home physical therapy.

Phil King is such a knowledgeable and encouraging PT! We first met Phil in 2018 when my wife had total right knee replacement. At our request, Phil was her PT when she had a left total knee replacement four months later. Then in May 2021, I fell from a ladder which required surgery and rehab. Once released to come home, Virginia Home Health provided Nurse, PT, OT and yes, Phil was requested once again! Last week I had a total right knee replacement, myself and of course, Phil, was the man! He is truly a dedicated and compassionate person. I would highly recommend him to anyone requiring his services!
