Virginia Health Services has over 150 volunteers comprised of both groups and individuals in the local community who come to the facilities and dedicate their valuable time to our residents. We are proud to recognize these volunteers each year who go the extra mile.  As part of this recognition, each of our six VHS facilities hold a special luncheon and volunteers receive a personalized certificate of appreciation, as well as an engraved pin based on the amount of hours or years of service contributed.

Examples of activities the volunteers assist with range from singing, arts and crafts, games, pet therapy, computer training, and attending special outings.  In addition, many individual volunteers also have one on one time with residents and patiently read to them, give manicures, and bring smiles to faces because the residents know they are there “simply because they care.”
