The More You Know About Our Virginia Health Services facilities, The Easier your Decision Will Be.

Whatever the lifestyle or medical history one may have, aging brings on changes. The time comes when mature adults cannot tend to their own personal needs. They may not be as mobile. More important, they may need more attention than you as a care-giver can provide. We know that making the decision to place someone in an unfamiliar environment is difficult. And the truth of the matter is that you want the best care, comfort and companionship available to make the transition easier. We can help you in the difficult process making this decision.

Virginia Health Services has six conveniently located facilities to serve you, offering respite care, traditional long term care, a more intensive medical care referred to as skilled care and rehabilitation therapies including physical, speech and occupational therapy.

Skilled Care is a designation in the medical community for long or short term care for those who require a higher level of nursing attention. Thus, our Skilled Care Units at our facilities is for those patients who join us directly from the hospital and who need more professional nursing or restorative therapy on a daily basis than they may be able to receive elsewhere. What it means is that we can now accommodate patients coming from hospitals who may require physical therapy for recuperation from such problems as fractures, broken hips and rheumatic conditions. This added service is instrumental in helping a number of our rehabilitative Skilled Care patients return to their own homes much sooner.

Medicare Insurance Helps With The Costs This is good news to our Skilled Care patients who meet the medical criteria. In most situations, Medicare or other insurance carriers may provide up to 100 days of Skilled Care per benefit period.
