Virginia Health Services has six conveniently located facilities to serve you, offering respite care, traditional long term care, a more intensive medical care referred to as skilled care and rehabilitation therapies including physical, speech and occupational therapy. Skilled Care is a designation in the medical community for long or short term care for those who require a higher level of nursing attention. Thus, our Skilled Care Units at our facilities is for those patients who join us directly from the hospital and who need more professional nursing or restorative therapy on a daily basis than they may be able to receive elsewhere. What it means is that we can now accommodate patients coming from hospitals who may require physical therapy for recuperation from such problems as fractures, broken hips and rheumatic conditions. This added service is instrumental in helping a number of our rehabilitative Skilled Care patients return to their own homes much sooner.
At Virginia Health Services, Inc., we know that you, the decision-maker, may need professional guidance as you make this difficult decision for your parent or someone you love. We know it is not an easy process, but we are here to help you make the changes as easily and compassionately as possible.
